Rare turtles in Sumatra Coast

This turtle appears at the beginning of the year yesterday, was the news that's been a while. Just a reminder to keep the water animals are almost extinct. Leatherback turtles (Dermochelys coriacea) appeared in one of the coast of Sumatra. Leatherback turtle is one species of sea turtles are extremely rare and considered the most endangered species. Like other turtles, the turtle was found when it will spawn, along with dozens of eggs found this turtle. This is the third time the experts encountered turtle species are on the same beach. Leatherback turtle is a species that has been wandering the oceans for 100 million years. However, now number only about 30,000 leatherback turtles tail.
Khairul Amra, a member of a local conservation group, on Thursday (2/17/2011) told the AP that he found turtles during the weekend before the turtle was returned to the water. Khairul said he met with dozens of turtle turtle eggs were laid. Species that are found in Sumatra has a size of 3 meters, the maximum size of the turtle species that can grow.
